A BMW drove into a motorway underpass near Nuremberg and burned.
A previously unknown person died.
Altdorf near Nuremberg – For reasons that are not yet known, a BMW crashed into a motorway underpass in the district of Nürnberger Land and caught fire.
One person was killed, as the police headquarters in Central Franconia announced on Thursday evening, April 6th.
Already in the afternoon the emergency call was received at the center of Franconia.
When the police and fire brigade arrived at the scene of the accident, the vehicle was already fully engulfed in flames.

The body of the person sitting in the car could not be clearly identified because it was burned beyond recognition.
In order to clearly clarify the cause of death, the Schwabach criminal police also got involved.
So far, however, there is no evidence that the accident was caused by other people.

The competent public prosecutor's office in Nuremberg-Fürth has ordered an autopsy on the body.
The police have yet to determine whether property damage occurred at the motorway underpass.
On site, forces from the volunteer fire departments in Altdorf, Eismannsberg, Kucha and Rieden extinguished the burning BMW.
