On video: Drama in the Assuta case: The court ruled that a guardian be appointed for baby Sophia (Merav Cohen)
A Dutch man named Jonathan M., 41 years old, was sued on the grounds that he donated his sperm hundreds of times more than legally allowed, and is actually the biological father of more than 550 offspring.
"Preferred his urge to procreate over the mental and physical health of the children," reads the indictment filed against him in the Netherlands.
The guidelines in the Netherlands state that a man can only donate sperm for up to 25 offspring, or 12 families, to minimize the chance of incest, and to protect the children's mental health.
Therefore, the mother of one of Jonathan M's children is suing the serial sperm donor on the grounds that he blatantly ignored the rules, and is trying to prevent him from having more children.

"If I had known that he had already donated to more than a hundred women - I would never have chosen this donor," said the mother who filed the complaint.
"When I think about the consequences this could have on my child, I start to worry about his future. Going to court is the only way to protect him."
Already in 2017, the serial sperm donor began to attract attention, after it was revealed that his donation was responsible for more than a hundred children born.
In response, the Dutch Association of Obstetrics and Gynecology ordered the sperm banks to stop using his donations immediately.
However, according to the lawsuit, Jonathan M. continued to offer his sperm to women who wanted to get pregnant on social media, and lied to them about the number of times he had already done so.
Jonathan M. currently lives in Kenya and has so far refused to respond to the claim that his donations have helped in the birth of more than 550 children worldwide.
