The "Rosenheim Cops" fans have to say goodbye to two stars.

tz.de asked the reasons for the unexpected double exit.

Munich – double change in the ZDF “Rosenheim Cops”: In the 23rd season, which has been shooting since mid-March, two actresses will no longer be there: Sophie Melbinger (37, played Commissioner Birte Andresen) has left as well Sevda Polat (37), who took a closer look at the Rosenheim murder victims as pathologist Ela Atay.

Even though the two stars were only there for two seasons, they gained a lot of sympathy during that time.

The great anticipation of the fans on social media for the 23rd "Rosenheim Cops" season is mixed with voices of regret - and criticism of the personnel changes.

"It's no longer Rosenheim Cops," wrote one fan.

Rosenheim Cops: Sophie Melbinger and Sevda Polat say goodbye with a heavy heart

Both Sevda Polat and Sophie Melbinger explain at the request of tz.de that the exit came from them.

And justify this with the striving for new challenges, which of course is limited by the tight shooting schedule of a series.

"It wasn't an easy decision for me"

Sophie Melbinger

As a Rosenheim cops investigator, Melbinger does not say goodbye without a crying eye.

"It was two very nice years with the Rosenheim cops, with a great team and colleagues who I have grown very fond of," said the Munich resident about her exit.

"It wasn't an easy decision for me, but there are so many beautiful characters, stories and formats that I would like to get to know.

After many years of permanent engagement in the theater and two years in a series, I am very much looking forward to working in the most diverse facets of my profession.

As the saying goes: One should go when it is at its most beautiful!“

"I really felt at home with the Rosenheim cops"

Sevda Polat

The reason why Sevda Polat, after two seasons as a forensic doctor, is now oriented elsewhere sounds similar.

Here, too, the decision was made by her, as she explains to tz.de: "I thought carefully about leaving and ultimately decided to use my time to meet new challenges from this year and to develop myself further," says Polat.

"It was very difficult for me because I really felt at home with the Rosenheim cops.

While it was a relatively short time, the entire cast and crew have given me a bit of family, for which I will always be very grateful."

Rosenheim Cops: Replacement for season 23 already found

The desire for further development should be understandable - and was once the reason for another "Rosenheim Cops" favorite to leave.

Now the creators had to look for a replacement in both cases - and have found him: Michaela Weingartner takes over the vacant job as detective in the role of chief inspector Julia Beck, Anastasia Papadopoulou is there as Dr.

Elena Dimos "the new one" in forensic medicine.
