Early summer without strawberries is hard to imagine.

The sweet fruits, which botanically belong to the aggregate fruits, give desserts and drinks in particular a summery touch.

They are also a pleasure on their own.

White strawberries are a bit more exotic, not only in terms of appearance, but also because their taste is reminiscent of pineapple.

Rich in vitamin C and folic acid, strawberries are perfect for a healthy diet.

In addition, the fruits are not too demanding when it comes to cultivation: a sunny spot, well-drained soil and watering in the morning and they will thrive magnificently.

They can also be grown in containers thanks to their rather short roots.

But if you keep your eyes open in the supermarket or at the weekly market, you've probably seen them more often lately: the white strawberry or so-called pineapple strawberry.

It looks like an "inside-out" strawberry with its white flesh and red nuts, while the taste is clearly more exotic.

  • Strawberries can be planted between March and October.

  • Due to their smaller size, pineapple strawberries are ideal for balconies and terraces, as they can be cultivated in tubs
