Weather in Germany: Heat turnaround is approaching – but there is a risk of snow again in some regions

The weather is currently showing its changeable side, even on the Easter weekend a clear trend is not foreseeable.

The current prospects at a glance.

Offenbach – The weather can't be described as really stable lately, even on the Easter weekend the weather range covers pretty much everything.

While temperatures are rising in many places, the nights remain cool.

In addition, occasional showers and rain can thwart the Easter egg hunt.

The German Weather Service (DWD) even warns of snow on Saturday morning (April 8th).

On Friday, the DWD had spoken of rising temperatures.

Up to 20 degrees could be possible on Easter Monday.

However, walkers should not do without a warm jacket entirely, as the temperatures are not really constant.

According to the DWD, the nights in particular should remain cool, and in some cases there is even a risk of sub-zero temperatures.

A few days ago it became apparent that Germany would find itself in a low-pressure tongs.

As the DWD explained on Friday, it should remain mostly dry on Saturday west of the Rhine and in the far north.

However, the rest of the country should be prepared for a heavily overcast sky, with isolated rain and showers giving the spring-like Easter weekend a gloomy look.

Above 1000 meters there is even a threat of snow.

As the DWD explained on its website on Saturday morning, light snowfall is to be expected here.

The eastern Bavarian low mountain range is particularly affected.

In the Alps above 1000 to 1200 meters snow has to be expected at times until Sunday morning.

According to DWD information, up to 10 centimeters can fall, locally even up to 20 centimeters in traffic jams.

• Easter Sunday (9 April): partly cloudy, between 11 and 15 degrees

Occasional light frost and fog are also on the program in the morning and at night.

Temperatures are expected to range between 8 and 15 degrees during the day, while it will remain cooler in the higher mountains and by the sea.

However, the Easter egg hunt should not fall completely into the water.

The prospects for Sunday (April 9) promise sunny sections.

Clouds are supposed to accompany the day here as well, but in the afternoon the sun should appear in many places.

The temperatures are between 11 and 15 degrees.

It stays cooler in the Alps and by the sea.

There are 17 degrees locally on the Rhine.

Easter Monday offers the best prospects.

In the southwest, 20 degrees are then occasionally possible.

Overall, according to the meteorologists, it will be cloudy after haze and fog fields have cleared, with longer sunny periods.

The sun can be seen in the west and northwest, but there are also compact cloud fields and the first raindrops in the evening.

The temperatures will be milder overall at 14 to 18 degrees.

Austria in particular has been able to enjoy snow in the past few days - winter is celebrating a comeback.
