Wolfatshausen - The BN district group has been involved for more than five decades.
At the annual general meeting, chairman Friedl Krönauer asked for support.
"Your shoulders are getting tired," stated the BN boss at the end of his statement of accounts in the rafting business.
Whether rescuing amphibians, mowing hay meadows, pruning fruit trees or selling materials: the tasks of the district group are diverse, but often distributed to a few volunteer helpers.
We are looking for universalists who support the activities of the district group at the various locations.
Previously, Krönauer denounced the fact that the tourist pressure on the natural areas of the Oberland was still high and that the traffic turnaround in rural areas had not yet been completed despite positive developments such as the establishment of express bus routes.
"Unfortunately, many are still dependent on the car," regretted Krönauer.
He still thinks that building a cycle path through a Lenggrieser FFH area is the wrong approach.
Workshop on avoiding plastic waste and gardening at the district clinic in Wolfratshausen
In further annual balances, the local group leaders also reported on successes that are encouraging.
Environmental education officer Diana Meßmer referred to well-attended workshops on avoiding plastic waste and campaigns in schools.
For example, the BN looked after a sixth class at the Wolfratshausen middle school for a year.
The 19 students sowed spring flowers in the garden of the district clinic.
Children also did active gardening in the "Tölza Garden", which was awarded the district's environmental prize last year.
In addition, the BN was represented at the "Climate Spring Oberland" and at the "Rose Days" in Bad Tölz and at the Geretsried Children's and Youth Day.
For the planned campaign "From knowledge to action", the BN is still looking for helpers who will take care of species-rich areas, gardens and meadow orchards.
BN Vice-Chairman Achim Rücker takes care of the mowing of litter meadows and renaturation measures in moors.
In his annual report, however, he criticized the increasing "official madness" and the excessive documentation of his activities.
Amphibian collections: 170 volunteers at 15 collection points working 1,300 hours
The BN receives a lot of support from its amphibian collections.
District group member Monika Schotte reported on 170 volunteers who worked 1,300 hours at 15 collection points in the district in 2022 to transport more than 28,000 toads, frogs and newts safely across the streets to their spawning grounds.
At the end there were honors for long-standing BN members.
Christian Roth (50 years in the BN), the family of Christian Nerz (40 years) and Alexander Kollmann for 25 years received pins and certificates.
