2023-04-09T13:34:35.413Z

The boss of the socialist deputies deplored the “obstinacy” of the head of state on the pension reform.

Boris Vallaud fires red bullets at the head of state.

Guest of the RTL- Le

Figaro

-LCI Grand Jury

, the boss of the Socialist deputies slammed a

“frenzied”

president ,

“entrenched at the Elysée”

and guided by his only

“obstinacy”

on pension reform.

"I do not accept that Emmanuel Macron has a mandate to apply this reform"

, he lamented.

Hearing by the Constitutional Council, Boris Vallaud has

“great hopes”

that the text will be censored by the nine judges.

The institution of rue Montpensier must decide, Thursday, April 14, on the conformity of the bill with the Constitution.

“We contest the clarity and sincerity of the debate we had,”

argued Boris Vallaud, recalling that the Elders decide

“in law”

and not on

“substance”

.

Read also Pensions: if the Constitutional Council validates the request for RIP, can the law still be enacted?

In the event of validation of the reform, it remained

"a very bad law, brutal and unjust"

, he continued.

A possible green light from the institution would not sign, according to him, the end of the social and political struggle.

The president of the socialist group in the National Assembly thus said he was ready to present

"a law to repeal Emmanuel Macron's reform".

The Constitutional Council must also rule, the same day, on the organization of a shared initiative referendum (RIP), demanded by Nupes.

"It would be a way to give voice to the French who demand a form of continuous democracy"

, argued Boris Vallaud, convinced that the Sages have

"matter"

to validate the request.

If the procedure is successful, citizens would then be invited to vote on the impossibility of postponing the retirement age beyond 62 years.

“Mistreated” social partners

Whatever the outcome of the reform, Boris Vallaud sees a

"deeper"

evil in this sequence of pensions, which has become the symptom

of "a country that is suffering"

.

"The government hopes for a return to normal, where the French are asking it to change the model

," he insisted.

For the former Deputy Secretary General at the Élysée, the social partners, including Laurent Berger, have been

"abused"

by the executive, like

"our institutions which have been brutalized"

.

And to add, scathing:

“Humiliation is a form of government method with Emmanuel Macron”

.

Taking up the words of the boss of the CFDT,

“a political coup

”.

Friday, in remarks reported by

Le Monde

,

RTL

and

Le

Point

, the Prime Minister nevertheless recognized the need for a

“period of convalescence”

after the sequence of retreats.

"To bandage the patient, it may be necessary to remove the splinter that has been put in his foot"

, mocked Boris Vallaud.

For the socialist, Elisabeth Borne shares

"tremendous naivety"

with other figures from the left who thought they were

"bringing extra soul"

to Emmanuel Macron's policy.

If she wishes to continue to govern, the head of government must, according to him, submit to a

“prerequisite”: “Withdraw this reform”

.

“What is blocked today is not the Assembly.

It's the government!”

he concluded.
