Fürth – An almost 25-year-old receipt from Bavaria is currently circulating on Facebook.

Among other things, a user from Bad Tölz posted it.

The photo comes from a group on the social network, as he explains when asked.

It is not the first historical supermarket note that invites you to marvel at the social network - recently one of the discontinued drugstore chain Schlecker from the year 2000 landed there. A user showed a Woolworth receipt, which is likely to be even older.

Supermarket receipt from 1998: Finder reacts with expletive

The one that has now surfaced is dated 14.11.1998.

The euro had not yet been introduced at that time.

Even if no currency appears on the note, the prices given must be in German marks.

That made the Facebook user from Bad Tölz all the more amazed.

"When I looked at the receipt from 1998, I roughly rolled it over to today," he says - "and just thought Fuuuuuuuuuuuuck........." So he could only acknowledge the price comparison 1998 vs. 2023 with an expletive .

"These were other prices, so shopping was still fun," says another user.

Supermarket visitors are currently reacting with public shock at what is being called for from Rewe to the discounters for food - not only, but also with asparagus.

According to the Bon, it was different in 1998 in Fürth.

According to the imprint, the receipt came from there, more precisely from a Marktkauf branch.

Back then, a box of 19 Marlboro cigarettes cost 5.20 Deutschmarks - today a box of 20 is 8 euros.

With the other products on the receipt, it is sometimes more difficult to find comparative values.

For example, with rolls (99 pfennigs back then), some of which are still very cheap today in the simple version.

The same applies to ham sausage, which at the time cost 1.29 Deutschmarks from the company's own brand "Gut & Billig".

And with Hanuta and the bag from the deli counter, you don't know how much was in it.

Supermarket receipt from 1998: Signal toothpaste was actually more expensive back then

What is fascinating, however, is that a product actually seems to be cheaper in 2023 than it was in 1998 in the Marktkauf branch in Fürth.

The unknown customer once paid 2.19 D-Mark for a tube of "Signal toothpaste".

Whether it is the normal one or a special one is of course not clear from the receipt.

And of course drugstore products are sometimes a bit more expensive in supermarkets.

In any case: There is regular signal toothpaste (according to online shops) at Rossmann for 99 cents, at Müller for only 95 cents.

Everything more expensive?

Are you kidding me? Are you serious when you say that!

But unfortunately still far too much ... A poor woman recently showed her Rewe voucher for three simple items.
