(ANSA) - ROME, APRIL 11 - A property confiscated from the mafied will become a shelter for women.

It happens in Potentino, in the Municipality of Palazzo San Gervasio.

The center (Casa Rifugio - Centro Antiviolenza 'Mother Teresa of Calcutta') will be inaugurated by a meeting on the theme to be held on Friday 14 April in the council chamber of the same municipality.

The planning guidelines - explains the Department of Social Policies - are those expressed in the objectives of the Pon (national operational programme) legality, managed and financed by the Ministry of the Interior as part of the policies of inclusion and social cohesion.

The municipal administration therefore directed the competent office to proceed with the drafting of the project proposal for Urban Regeneration, recovery, re-functionalization and enhancement of one of the two assets confiscated from local criminal organizations in order to create this Center for women victims of violence.

"Specifically, the institutional and professional visions of a grandiose but concrete project will be harmonized, through an inevitable synergistic and network work", explain the promoters.

The event will be introduced and moderated by the councilor Buonvino followed by the institutional greetings of the mayor Festino.

The following will take part in the works: Antonio Bernardo, manager of the Basilicata Region operational program management authority, Antonio Sanfrancesco, sociologist and social planner, Francesco Fanelli, Basilicata region councilor for health and social policies, Donatella Merra, Basilicata region councilor for infrastructure and mobility,
