Hong Kong lifted its last Covid restrictions on tourists on April 1.
China's political satellite now welcomes travelers without a health filter, relegating to oblivion proof of complete vaccination or a negative test less than 48 hours old.
On site, tourists will no longer even have to wear a mask – whether on public transport or in closed public spaces.
Conversely
, at the beginning of April, the United States chose to extend the vaccination obligation for tourists.
This will remain in effect until May 11, 2023.
An incongruity?
The United States is one of the last major tourist destinations to maintain health restrictions linked to Covid-19 on entry, while the country is framed by two States that have returned to the pre-pandemic regime: Mexico has no almost never issued restrictions for travelers, and Canada completely removed them on October 1, 2022.

China, an exception in Asia
European countries have also abandoned the health restrictions they had put in place when the borders reopened.
Same story in Morocco, which removed its last restrictions linked to Covid-19 in September 2022 – with the exception of a “passenger health card”, to be duly completed before arriving in the kingdom.
Ditto in Tunisia, Egypt or Israel: the latest health conditions relating to the coronavirus have fallen for several months already.
In Asia, China is an exception.
Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia and Malaysia have all repealed their entry conditions relating to Covid-19.
Hong Kong's abandonment of health measures earlier this month made it the latest country to require tourists to test negative for a PCR, antigen or self-test within 48 hours.
The Middle Kingdom also requires travelers to complete a customs declaration form.
