After the questions that the candidacy of
Jorge Macrí
received to succeed
Horacio Rodríguez Larreta
in the City, the current head of the Buenos Aires Government affirmed that
"the last word rests with Justice."
"I spoke with him, he showed us the evidence and he says that
he can be a candidate
. Justice has the last word. He showed the papers and in my opinion he can be a candidate," said Larreta, in dialogue with
Rivadavia radio
.
The Buenos Aires mayor thus referred to the warning of some sectors of the opposition, such as the Civic Coalition and Buenos Aires radicalism, who alleged an alleged "incompatibility" of Jorge Macri's candidacy for head of the City Government.
Martín Lousteau, for example, assured that the cousin of Mauricio Macri and current Minister of Government of Larreta does not meet the requirements established by the Constitution of the City to be elected head of Government.
The new intern in Together for Change began when Jorge Macri himself forwarded a tweet from the head of the Civic Coalition bloc in the Buenos Aires Legislature, Facundo del Gaiso, to a chat shared by officials and legislators, where Elisa Carrió's ally asked for certainties about whether the former president's cousin could run for the City.
"This situation
has to be clarified quickly
to clear up doubts about the possibility of competing in the City without the risk of challenge," Del Gaiso's message said, attaching a note from
Clarín
that recalled a video of Macri, prior to the 2021 legislature. where -among other things- he questioned the jump from district of Diego Santilli to the Province.
"
These things must be stopped immediately
, that it be clear if they give him the qualities to compete in the City and not discuss it anymore. And if they can't, they can say it quickly," the CC legislator also wrote, while retweeting some images where a political scientist assured that the candidacy of the former mayor of Vicente López in CABA is weak on papers.
Macri would have responded: "Facundo, whenever you want, I will make all the information that certifies that I meet all the requirements to be a candidate available to the CC team. Don't worry about that. People will decide. Hugs."
