This decision puts pressure on non-profit private hospitals, these associative establishments (Saint-Joseph in Paris, Foch in Suresnes, etc.) which provide nearly 10% of the supply of care in medicine, surgery and obstetrics in France.

However, they too fulfill public service missions: they welcome all patients without distinction, have emergencies 24 hours a day, ensure the permanence of care and do not practice overcharges.
