Several environmental defense associations had attacked prefectural decrees authorizing the construction and filling of 16 "
substitute
" reserves - including that of Sainte-Soline - which must be built in this department, as well as Vienne and Charente- Maritime neighbors.
However, part of this procedure remains pending before the Administrative Court of Appeal of Bordeaux, where the applicants are contesting a previous judgment of the court of Poitiers.
Delivered in May 2021, it concerned the impact study and the environmental impact study of the "
mega-basins
" project, which opponents consider insufficient.
According to a census of the procedures in progress established by the latter in March, around twenty appeals remain committed against the 93 water reservoirs in the project in the former Poitou-Charentes region.
