Female students from the Horev studio in Jerusalem uploaded a racist video to the web called "If the studio was Mizrahi", in which they severely mocked Mizrahim.

In the video, in which an educator from the studio also participated, the female students painted their faces with heat, changed their last names to Eastern names and mocked Eastern music, dances and tradition.

The video was uploaded to YouTube about a month ago, and today (Thursday), when it was uploaded, it was taken down from the network.

In one of the scenes, female students in the twelfth grade are seen wearing dark body paint, with their names replaced by Sephardi surnames, and they behave wildly when the teacher enters the classroom - compared to the corresponding "Ashkenazi" classroom. Later in the video, you can even see a scene in which the photos of Rabbi Ovadia Yosef and the Baba are used mockingly. Sally This is a well-regarded studio in Jerusalem whose graduates are involved in senior positions in the economy, including Supreme Court judge Yael Wilner, businesswoman Hanna Hollander and many more.

In the scene in which one of the teachers participates, she stands at the entrance to the studio and sends a student to get ready before the prayer;

After that, in the same scene in the "Eastern" version, the teacher says to her student, "My dear, what happened to you today, atonement, what about the skirt?".

The student replied, "My dear teacher, I try to be careful."

MK Naama Lazimi, a member of the Education Committee, said that "the harsh racism of the studio girls breaks my heart.

How deep is the hatred and contempt for the Mizrahim of their community and the educational environment, which is the expression that came out of them." She added, "While the coalition is passing a law that will deny funding from discriminatory institutions, this is exactly the policy they are turning a blind eye to."

The creators of the video wanted to clarify that "the video was produced in a completely humorous way and refers to the internal humor of the girls of the studio".

The video was created in honor of the "crowning", a custom in religious schools, usually during the holiday of Purim, where humorous videos are published, and the creators of the video wrote that the topic of the crowning was "Moroccan henna".

"This was done out of joy, love and respect for the tradition, music, culture and exemplary figures of the community," they claimed.

They chose to emphasize that "the studio's Purim rabbi who was chosen by the majority of votes is Yemeni."

"A good video that would never have come"

The Horev Studio stated:

"This is a good video that would never have come into our hands, and it accidentally fell into our hands. The studio apologizes and regrets its content, even though it was made by female students as satire and parody as part of Purim events. Anyone who has been exposed to the studio's activities over the years knows that it does not at all reflect what is done in the studio that brings The connection between the different denominations and shades in Israeli society is expressed in a harmonious and true way. The studio team will gather next week for a discussion in which lessons will be drawn so that something similar does not change this, along with educational work that will be done with the education staff and studio students."
