A video circulated on the networks yesterday (Wednesday) shows Russian soldiers filming themselves while allegedly beheading a Ukrainian prisoner with a knife.

The video provoked outrage and widespread reactions in the world, including the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which condemned the video.

"It is impossible to remain indifferent in the face of the horrifying photos published from the city of Hamot," the Israeli Foreign Ministry wrote on Twitter yesterday evening, "Such acts are inhumane. Those responsible for these atrocities must be brought to justice."

Yesterday, the video was circulated in which Russian army soldiers are seen beheading a man wearing a yellow armband, which serves as an identification card for the Ukrainian forces.

Following the video, Ukraine compared Russia to the ISIS organization.

"There is something that no one in the world can ignore: how easily these animals kill," said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a video message he published, "there will be legal responsibility for everything. The defeat of terrorism is necessary."

"It is absurd that Russia, which is worse than ISIS, is the head of the UN Security Council," said

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kolba, "the Russian terrorists must be kicked out of Ukraine and the UN and held accountable for their crimes."

The Kremlin, in response, denied the authenticity of the photographs.

"In the world of fakes we live in, we must check the authenticity of these photographs," said Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

The Kremlin added and called the video "terrible."

In response to the video, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry called on the International Criminal Court to "immediately investigate another atrocity by the Russian army."

Ukrainian Deputy Defense Minister Hana Maliar added and asked not to name the soldier or distribute the video.

"Remember, the enemy wants to scare us. Wants to make us weaker," she said.

In Geneva, the United Nations human rights monitoring mission in Ukraine said that the video is only the latest in a widespread phenomenon of "extremely gruesome" videos recently published by Russia. In another video, it said, several dismembered bodies of Ukrainian prisoners of war were seen. Unfortunately , this is not an isolated incident," the UN statement reads, "the recent incidents must also be properly investigated and the perpetrators held accountable."
