“We were woken up by a huge boom”: a couple in their sixties Breton woke up by the GIGN, who are in the wrong house

Deployed in numbers for drug trafficking on Tuesday in Guignen in Ille-et-Vilaine, the gendarmes and the police made a street number error.

An unforgettable awakening, "

worthy of an Olivier Marchal film

", jokingly summarizes Pierre Fresneau, who found himself a few hours earlier with his wife Monique "hands

on the head, against a wall

", in pajamas.

The sexagenarian couple is not ready to forget this day of April 11, when, at six o'clock in the morning, a "

huge boom

" pulls them from their peaceful sleep, their front door having just been destroyed with blows explosives, reports the daily

Ouest-France

.

In about ten seconds, about twenty men from the antenna of the intervention group of the national gendarmerie (GIGN) and the judicial police of Rennes invest the Breton residence, located in Guignen in Ille-et-Vilaine.

"

At the time, I thought there was a burglary at our house or someone had broken in

," recalls Monique, back to reality.

"

The gendarmes open the cupboards and we don't understand what's going on

," adds her husband Pierre.

A grotesque situation

This nightmare for the retired couple turns out to be a ludicrous situation when the armed men learn the precise address of the house a quarter of an hour after the intervention: “we were

asked for the number of our house.

The gendarmes and the police realized that they had been mistaken.

The police therefore left the scene and returned an hour later, according to the regional daily, in order to explain the situation to the sixties still shaken.

However, they do not fail to salute the professionalism of the gendarmes and police: “

they were (...) very human, they offered us care, to see a doctor.

They also told us that the door repairs will be taken care of.

" On the other hand, the reasons for the intervention are very meager for the couple, who understood all the same that it was about an operation for drug trafficking: "

we imagine that the gendarmerie and the police do not move not so many men just for a little dope

”.

Monique and Pierre Fresneau remain optimistic after this error... “

We are receiving seven of our grandchildren from Friday, fortunately they were not there.
