31 injured in a road accident on Highway 1 (Ihud Hatzla barges)
31 people were slightly injured tonight (Thursday) after being involved in a car accident on Highway 1. The accident, in which more than ten vehicles were involved, took place near the Inaba interchange, which is close to Modi'in.
MDA teams that arrived at the scene of the incident provided medical treatment to the injured and evacuated them to Shamir, Assaf Harofeh, Kaplan, Sheba, Shaare Zedek and Hadassah Ein Kerem hospitals. Moshe Mizrahi, a
medic from Ihud Hatzala who was present at the incident, said that about 14 private vehicles were involved in the accident. "The vehicles apparently skidded due to ice that had accumulated on the road," explained the medic.
"It was a difficult scene with many vehicles, some of them even fell into the ditch on the sides of the road," said Dobi Meisel, VP of Operations at the Rescue Union, who was present at the scene.
"Ambulances of the Rescue Union evacuated 10 victims in a minor condition. 20 other victims were also evacuated by ambulances to the hospitals in a minor condition. 5 other victims were treated on the spot and did not need to be evacuated to the hospital"
