A 16-year-old boy is hospitalized at the Schneider Center in serious condition with collapsed lungs after using electronic cigarettes.

The boy is hospitalized in the cardiac intensive care unit and connected to the ECMO system, which replaces the activity of the heart and lungs.

A 16-year-old boy is hospitalized in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit at the Schneider Pediatric Center of the General Group, in serious condition after using electronic cigarettes.

The boy was transferred to the Schneider Center from Kaplan Hospital, in a state of collapsed lungs.

A comprehensive medical investigation conducted at Kaplan Hospital revealed that the boy's condition was apparently caused by smoking electronic cigarettes.

The boy is now in the cardiac intensive care unit where he is conscious, but as mentioned, is connected to a coma.

The boy's mother said that she wishes to pray for his safety and hopes that he will recover and regain his senses, and asks all parents to be alert to the issue and forbid their children from using electronic cigarettes, so that they do not end up in the terrible situation they are currently in.

According to Prof. Ovedi Dagan, director of the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit: "The boy was admitted to the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit in a very serious condition as his lungs are not functioning, and he needs the full support of an ECMO device. We are treating him and very much hope for an improvement in his condition in the coming days. The damage caused, apparently, Smoking electronic cigarettes is a huge harm. We call on all parents, prevent the next case."

Dr. Habetslat Yordan Bilevsky, an expert in clinical pharmacology and toxicology at the Schneider Center, adds that electronic cigarettes can cause even more serious damage than regular cigarettes. In the medical literature, there are many reports of lung disease secondary to overuse of electronic cigarettes, to the point of lung collapse. In some cases, the fillers are concocted independently with various dangerous substances, which increases the risk of even more serious damage, and in this case - the collapse of the lungs of a 16-year-old boy. I call on the youth and parents to be vigilant and recommend to stay away from electronic cigarettes and certainly not to use dangerous substances that are concocted independently.
