Six members of a crime gang in the north were arrested on suspicion of trying to assassinate a person on criminal grounds.
Two pistols with ammunition, vehicles, a bottle of gasoline, masks and more were caught in the possession of the six.
The detention of five suspects was extended last night (Wednesday) at the Haifa Magistrate's Court until next Thursday and the detention of another suspect was extended until Tuesday.
The police investigation is ongoing.
During an undercover investigation that was conducted at the YMR, it was suspected that members of one of the crime gangs intended to carry out an assassination attempt in the near future. YMR detectives arrested the six on the eve of the second Passover holiday, while they were allegedly on their way to carry out the assassination plan.
During the arrest of the suspects, two guns and ammunition, three vehicles that were used to commit the act - with one of them suspected to be stolen, a bottle of gasoline, masks and gloves were seized.

The six suspects in their 20s and 30s, residents of Acre and Nahariya, were brought in for questioning at the central unit in the Hoof district on suspicion of attempted murder, carrying a weapon, stealing a car, conspiring to commit a crime and more.
About three months ago, five people were arrested in Beer Ya'akov on suspicion of attempting to carry out an assassination.
They were arrested in a parking lot in the city in possession of two loaded guns, stocking caps, a tracking device and other assault weapons.
The officers fired in the air and then arrested the suspects for questioning.
The police stated that the suspects are known to them, and that the target of the assassination is unknown.
The incident began when the police received a report of suspect movement in an underground parking lot in Be'er Ya'akov.
The policemen arrived at the scene and noticed five, with one of them holding a gun and therefore carried out an arrest accompanied by shooting in the air until all the suspects were fully under control and they were laid on the ground for their arrest.
A search of the vehicle revealed another loaded gun, stocking caps and assault weapons, including a sea rifle, a knife and an ax and a surveillance device.
