Cultural outings: what to do in Lyon on the weekend of April 15?

During this school holiday period, the people of Lyon can celebrate gastronomy and flowers. Animal lovers will also be served.

The terroirs make their festival in Lyon

The association Le Tour des Terroirs is organizing its first Festival des Terroirs on April 15, 16 and 17, at Heat, in the Confluence district.

During these three days, nearly 15,000 visitors are expected in these 3000 m2 dedicated to "eating well" with as godmother of this first edition, the multi-starred chef Hélène Darroze.

On site you can find a food court, where nearly 50 chefs - including several starred - will introduce festival-goers to local products, but also a large market of producers, artisans and manufacturers, a wine bar to travel to different regions vineyards in France, workshops, conferences and concerts.

Science fiction takes hold of Lyon

The festival dedicated to science fiction returns to Lyon until April 18 for its 11th edition.

Within the MJC Monplaisir, in the Lumière cinemas and at the Le Zola cinema, the festival invites Lyonnais to talk about cinema, literature, music and science through the prism of SF.

The book fair will be organized on Saturday (10 a.m. to 8 p.m.) and Sunday (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.).

A geek flea market will also be set up this Sunday.

reptiles and dogs

Two fairs dedicated to animals will take place this weekend in the metropolis of Lyon.

The first, Reptilyon has become a must for lovers of snakes, tarantulas and other scorpions.

A hundred exhibitors are expected on site to buy, exchange or simply discover these reptiles, amphibians, insects or arachnids as well as a selection of rare plants.

You can also taste insects or handle certain specimens during workshops.

At the same time, on Sunday, the international dog show in Lyon will return to Eurexpo.

A great elegance contest for dogs classified according to their breed and their age category, always very popular with lovers of canine competitions.

Breeders, owners and exhibitors will present the most beautiful pedigree dogs to the public.

2000 dogs of 300 different breeds are expected.

Mixed doubles antiquing

To easily transition from winter to spring and perhaps already prepare for sunny days, the Rethink vintage fair will set up shop this weekend at the Double Mixte to present more than 10,000 quality clothes to buy by the kilo.

Marc Riboud, great photo reporter of the 20th century

A hundred shots for a centenarian.

The Musée des Confluences celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of travel photographer Marc Riboud, who was born in Saint-Genis-Laval.

The man who left his factory in Villeurbanne after studying engineering at the Ecole Centrale de Lyon immortalized those of others during reports from around the world for the famous Magnum agency.

Close to great photographers, such as Henri Cartier-Bresson or Robert Capa, he delivered work of great humanity, to be rediscovered.
