25-year-old Hamza Abu Ghanem was shot dead this morning (Friday) on Ben Yehuda Street in Lod.
The young man was taken to Assaf Harofeh Hospital in critical condition, during CPR, where the doctors had to pronounce him dead.
The police started an investigation.
Details of the circumstances of the case have not yet been provided.
It was also reported from MDA that during the evacuation of the injured person to the emergency room, unknown persons smashed the window pane of the ambulance.
"When we arrived at the scene, there was a commotion and many people around," said MDA paramedic Shneor Opner and senior medic Benny Joseph, "we saw a man like a boy 25 lying on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds, he was unconscious without a pulse and without breathing, we immediately performed advanced and prolonged resuscitation operations even while evacuating him to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead."

Yesterday, another shooting occurred in the city of Lod, during which six people were injured.
The shooting took place on Yitzhak Rabin Street, in the railway neighborhood of the city, and resulted in the wounding of an eight-year-old boy in a serious manner, and four young men in a minor and moderate manner.
The six were evacuated independently to Shamir Assaf Harofeh Hospital in Be'er Ya'akov, where the child was admitted for surgery.
