"You rule," the Puerto Rican told thousands of people in California at a concert in which he also took the opportunity to respond to criticism with a forceful message.

Bad Bunny took to the Coachella stage before midnight from Friday to Saturday, as the headliner of one of the most important music festivals in the world, and made thousands of people dance in the desert city of Indio (California).

She asked them: "I want to ask you a question: What do you prefer? Talking to me in English or Spanish."

"Spanish!" Said the public, thus opting for her to sing in Spanish instead of English, according to the newspaper El País.

"So, you rule," Benito Martínez Ocasio answered them.

The first day of concerts at the Empire Polo Club was attended by more than 120,000 people -absolutely full-, and artists such as Gorillaz, Blondie, The Chemical Brothers, Blink-182 or Becky G also performed.

But the star of the night was

El Conejo Malo

, which offered great choreography, screen games, use of lasers, interaction with real objects such as a jet ski and even fireworks.

“We are at the Coachella Festival, a place of inspiration and where many questions are answered,” said the 29-year-old Puerto Rican, according to the Efe agency.

"Great artists have passed through here," he added, "I hope it will be my first time closing a day of this festival, but not the last."

“On social networks, in the press, many things are said, but they can never know the reality of what a heart feels.

[...] Therefore, I tell you not to believe what you do not see that came out of my mouth.

[...] Whoever wants to really get to know me, I invite him to my house ”, she declared.

To applause from the public, he added in a broken way that "people" think they know "the life of celebrities", but "they don't know" what they feel or how they live.

"You will never know me through Instagram, you will never know me through a viral video on TikTok, you will never know me through an interview, the message is changed," she concluded.

In the interview he was asked if he believes that race and skin color can condition the success of a reggaeton player, and he replied that, due to his "ignorance", he could not talk about the subject because he had not "experienced it personally".

“I can't say yes or no because I don't live it.

Nor have I seen with my own eyes that if this person did not become more successful it is because of his skin.

I have not seen it and it would be irresponsible on my part to say yes”, expressed Bad Bunny after starring in the first cover completely in Spanish of the historic magazine.

"It's crazy to see where reggaeton has reached"

At the concert, Bad Bunny remembered those who opened the doors of Caribbean rhythms in the United States with a tribute to their roots in which he mentioned Héctor Lavoe, Tito Puente and Celia Cruz, and pioneering reggaeton artists such as Daddy Yankee and Tego Calderón.

"It's being incredible, it's crazy to see where reggaeton has reached," Santos, a young Californian who attended the festival, told EFE during the concert.

“The show is showing why it is so successful and look what collaborations it brings,” added Sara, a New York attendee who traveled to Indio for this weekend, after singers like Ñengo Flow, Post Malone or Jhay Cortez took the stage with Bad Bunny.
