Two days ago,
Netflix
unveiled the first images of
Wonderman
, the fictional series “inspired” by the life of
Bernard Tapie
.
In the main role, Laurent Lafitte will take on the features of the businessman who died on October 3, 2021 at the age of 78 following cancer, while Joséphine Japy will play his wife Dominique Tapie.
The seven-episode miniseries, slated to go live September 13, will cover the life of Bernard Tapie from his early professional days in the 1960s through the early 1990s. Also scheduled to cast are Fabrice Luchini, Ophelia Kolb, Camille Chamoux and Hakim Jemili.

Shortly after the publication of the photos on Instagram, his daughter Sophie Tapie split an unequivocal message.
““Clap the scammer”.
Knowing that he had verbalized before his death that he was against this series... Like what disrespect has no limit.
I am all the more shocked that the series is at the initiative of Tristan Séguéla, a “friendly” family of the Tapies for 40 years”
, wrote the singer in a comment.

And for good reason.
In the initial message, Netflix had written:
“Businessman, politician, scammer, boss of Olympique de Marseille, singer …”
to describe Bernard Tapie.
A message that quickly aroused the wrath of Internet users and that the platform hastened to correct.
The account has also hidden Sophie Tapie's comments as well as those denouncing the description made initially.

For his part, Rodolphe Tapie, Bernard Tapie's grandson, wrote on Twitter:
““Tapie the scammer” serious Netflix??
You need to call it that to promote your show… It sucks…”
From the start, Bernard Tapie was against this series project.
“The person who made this series came to see Bernard and he told him no
,” said Dominique Tapie at the end of March on RTL pinning the director Tristan Séguéla without naming him.

As soon as the idea came up, I informed him because I thought it was good to do it.
But we did not seek his approval or his opinion.
He was therefore not involved in the writing or the scripts.
I wanted us to maintain absolute independence.
His involvement would be incompatible with the part of fiction that we want to put in the series.
But he didn't try to stop it either.
