The chief of staff, Agustín Rossi, accused the opposition
of seeking a devaluation
that will only generate more inflation and more poverty, and considered that Mauricio Macri and Javier Milei "are the same."
"They are all the same. Because when you listen to Macri, when you listen to Milei, the only difference is the length of the dynamite fuse. Some have it longer and some have it shorter. But the truth is that they are exactly the same, they propose the same alternative," he said.
On Monday, he defended the economic policies
carried out by Minister Sergio Massa, and stressed that the 7.7 percent rise in the price index registered in March reinforces and renews "the commitment to all Argentines to find a downward path."
"When Massa took office (sic), he found himself in the situation that we were in the middle of a run.
That run ended in a devaluation
. Permanently, the strategies for recomposition of reserves have to do with moving away from this devaluation situation," Rossi explained during an interview with radio La 990.
"It is strange, because they say that they are going to lower inflation with more inflation. Because
what they are proposing is a devaluation
, and that devaluation is going to bring more inflation and more poverty. Which is, precisely, with all the measures we take, what we try to move away," argued the former Defense Minister.
In his criticism of the opposition, Rossi did not distinguish between Together for Change and the libertarian sector led by deputy Javier Milei, whom he attributed to thinking of a devaluation if they came to power after the October elections of this year.
