Larreta, Bullrich and Macri rule out Vidal's proposal for all PRO candidates to drop out

2023-04-17T23:55:45.300Z

The former governor shook the board with her idea. But she had little internal rebound.

The surprising proposal was made by María Eugenia Vidal this Monday, in a radio contact.

She suggested that all the PRO candidates be dropped to rediscuss the party's nominations from scratch for the 2023 elections. As Clarín was able to reconstruct, the idea arose after a previous meeting, in the morning, with his campaign team.

It was understood as an impact move, prior to the presentation of the former governor at the meeting of top politicians and businessmen at the Llao Llao hotel in Bariloche.

It was also agreed to repeat the proposal there this Tuesday.

However, before the arrival of the deputy at the luxurious lodging in the Argentine South, the three main references of the party let it be known that the idea is, at least, extemporaneous and that it will have no place.

The most contemplative, predictably, was Mauricio Macri, the first to cum.

From the former president's environment they trusted that it was "a good intention of María Eugenia", but they denied that the founder of PRO was behind the move.

The doubt arose because in Vidal's campaign team there is Darío Nieto, one of Macri's most trusted leaders and who was at the meeting where it was decided to go out and shake the board: "There is very little left for the closing of candidacies, no we see it", they reinforced this newspaper close to the former president.

Vidal and Macri oiled their relationship, after a conflictive 2019, which ended in defeat for both.

And the founder of the PRO valued a particular gesture from the former governor: she was the only one who said that if Macri ran for president, she would get out of it.

But he was the first to cum.

And several believe that Vidal's proposal on Monday could prepare the ground for a similar decision.

"No, it is not going down. What seems to María Eugenia is that things are being discussed here that are far from the people, Milei is growing, and the PRO is not speaking to society," they ruled out for the moment near the deputy .

Larretista and bullrichista rejection

"What she said has no basis. It is difficult to interpret what she meant. Except that it is preparing the ground to get off her," one of Larreta's main operators analyzed before the Clarín query.

Vidal's relationship with the head of government is in reverse to hers with Macri.

She considered them inseparable allies and the 2023 campaign was driving them away.

One of the theories is that the former governor considers that Larreta did not give her all possible support for the 2021 election, when she headed for national deputy in the City.

And although she won easily, she did not reach 50% and she was left with a bitter feeling.

Also, they say, Vidal got tired of appearing before certain circles as Horacio's "employee".

They never broke the personal bond, but the political relationship seems to have been somewhat damaged.

So much so that, in her speech, the former governor was closer to the Macri and Bullrich hawks than to the moderate Larreta.

She was even one of the first to question the unfolding, on the same day, of the national and Buenos Aires elections.

On Bullrich's side, meanwhile, they also ruled out any chance of a move.

It is understood: the head of the PRO, along with Larreta, are the ones who lead the polls for the hot internal Juntos por el Cambio.
