At least one person was killed and five others were injured when a parking garage partially collapsed Tuesday afternoon in the Financial District of lower Manhattan in New York, according to city officials.
New York Mayor Erick Adams reported the death and injuries.
Multiple people are feared trapped inside the semi-collapsed structure, the New York Fire Department said.

In videos that have circulated on social networks and have not been verified by Telemundo News, cars are seen hanging and stacked after the collapse.
Images showed a person being evacuated on a stretcher.
The collapse took place around 4:00 p.m.
in a three-story building on Ann Street, near Nassau Street, a few blocks from City Hall and the Brooklyn Bridge, and a half-mile from the Stock Exchange. Stocks on Wall Street.

"It felt like an earthquake," Liam Gaeta, a student at Pace University, said in testimony cited by the AP agency.
