The major US banks did not suffer from the storm that violently shook the banking sector in March.

Their quarterly results are in good shape, boosted in particular by the rise in interest rates which is improving their credit margins.

Only Goldman Sachs, very present in investment banking, bears the brunt of the anemia of the mergers and acquisitions market and the volatility of the financial markets.

Between January and March, its net profit plunged 19% ($3.1 billion).

The other behemoths of Wall Street have benefited from the banking crisis and the bankruptcies of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB), Signature Bank and Silvergate, which occurred in just four days.

In March, JPMorgan, Citigroup, Wells Fargo and Bank of America, considered too big to fail, thus won new customers fleeing regional or small banks that had become dangerous in their eyes.
