But after a long period without a name to identify themselves, the town hall finally decided to tackle the problem head-on.

We will carry out historical research to find tracks of gentiles.
Then, four or five names will be proposed to the inhabitants who will vote by mail.
The final result will be determined at the municipal council meeting in December this year
,” explains Jean-Pierre Champion, deputy mayor of Mogneneins.

Maybe a nicety existed but it was never used.
What I do know is that the name of the town has changed to being called Moyeneins in the past

This village is also not devoid of history.
Its origin dates back to Gaul.
In the 18th century, it was a very rural commune with many peach trees and vines which disappeared after the phylloxera epidemic.
