At Milan Design Week, Queen Máxima surprised with a daring cut-out coat.
But her fashion choice was not well received by the fans.
Milan – Queen Máxima of the Netherlands (51) is known for her good taste, fashion sins and fashion flops, the native Argentinian hardly ever allows herself.
But the outfit that the wife of King Willem-Alexander (55) now wore at the Milan Design Week divided opinions.
Fashion week instead of design week?
Queen Máxima opts for a trench coat with a clear view
At the Milan Design Week, Queen Máxima completed a tour of the city and the park Biblioteca degli Alberi, where she posed for the photographers with the Dutch designer Petra Blaisse (68).
The urban park landscape took a back seat as Máxima drew everyone's attention with her beige trench coat by Claes Iversen Pazia from the 2019 collection.
The Danish fashion designer Claes Iversen (45) is one of the favorite designers of the Dutch queen.

The trench coat is strewn with numerous gold-colored bordered cut-outs, a turquoise pants suit with wide legs shimmered through the holes.
Queen Máxima complemented her outfit with a golden "Evil Eye" clutch by Begüm Khan worth 3,200 euros, nude Ferragamo pumps (320 euros) and stylish sunglasses by Cartier (820 euros).

"Reminds me a bit of an Emmental": Fans tear Queen Máxima's hole outfit
Queen Máxima's royal fans are busy commenting on the extravagant appearance on social media.
Although there are also positive reactions on Instagram such as "A great coat worn by a great woman" or "What a cool coat" - the majority of users don't knock the Dutch Queen's outfit off their feet.
"Terrible!", An Instagram user comments on a photo of Máxima in the hole trench coat.
"What terribly bad taste," added another.

The fans don't stop at Máxima's mother-in-law, Princess Beatrix of the Netherlands (85).
"A queen is not a movie star.
Luckily Princess Beatrix is still alive, otherwise she would have turned in her grave." And of course the cheese comparison should not be missing either: "Reminds me a bit of an Emmental." Queen Máxima will be able to get over it, after all she already contributed in 2021 a state visit to Norway, a dress by Claes Iversen with equally daring cut-outs, which was not well received by the critics.
Nevertheless, she now got the coat for the design week out of the closet.
It will be interesting to see what Máxima will do for the coronation of King Charles III.
will wear - with Princess Kate the question arises whether her coronation dress will be ready in time after the tiara dispute.
