Lionel Scaloni
continues to show why he is
The Best
.
The world champion technical director with the
Argentine National Team
in the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, participated in a coach training course sponsored by FIFA and Conmebol held between April 11 and 15 at the Football Association grounds Argentine (AFA) in Ezeiza.
The native of Pujato gave a virtual chat from Spain, his place of residence, and answered questions from the participating coaches from Argentina, Uruguay, Chile and Paraguay, who were chosen by the federations of their respective countries as members of the seminar.
"We are here with coaches and trainers from South America who, in one way or another, will impact more than two million boys and girls once they bring the knowledge of the program to their countries. In that context, it is an honor and a pleasure to have with us the best coach in the world, who is also South American
," said
Mauricio Marques
, a FIFA technical expert when presenting Scaloni with praise to the public.

During the talk, the creator of the
Scaloneta
spoke about some issues that he considers important in the world of football and on which he should focus as a coach.
"If we talk about grassroots football, youth divisions, which is where it all begins, and how to interpret what it means to train children, we come to the conclusion that it is not for everyone. You have to have vocation and patience," Scaloni
declared
during his talk.
And he added: "I had great coaches and trainers, who instilled in me how to interpret this sport under the terms of respect and discipline
. But something that we coaches should influence is to let the child do it, to manifest himself on a field, and correct him what is really worth it
. We can't tell him what to do all the time because we take the initiative and inventiveness out of him."
Listening to one of the best in the world at what he does -currently the best according to FIFA- is always gratifying.
And
Rocío Yañez
, an instructor at the National Football Institute of Chile and the first woman to lead professional men's football in her country, recognized it and valued
Scaloni's words as "very significant"
.
"He never lost the horizon that we like and
lies in being focused on the player
, in directing all his work in a meaningful and close learning. It gives us much more strength that this is the right path
," Yañez assured in statements to the website FIFA.
"
I was impressed by his conceptual clarity
, his honesty and humility, which end up being values that football transmits
," said Argentine
Rubén Rossi
, youth world champion with Diego Maradona in 1979 and current methodological director of the César Luis Menotti Soccer School who also was present in the room.
This seminar is not a new project being carried out by the mother organization of soccer together with the South American confederation, but rather it had already been organized on a pilot basis in previous years and this was its first official celebration.
Giovani Fernandes
, manager of the FIFA Coaches Educators Department, explained the guidelines of the course:
"It is important to highlight that this face-to-face course is part of a process. We started together with an online learning, where the trainers had the opportunity to reflect about the material offered and bring their personal contributions from their experiences"
.
And he continued:
"Then we did an online course, where we saw how the theory is applied to each other's reality. And today here, in Buenos Aires, is where all the content is applied together."
In addition, the seminar also had the validation of an international figure from our continent such as
Justo Villar
, the emblematic goalkeeper of the Paraguayan National Team.
"FIFA and Conmebol have been working for a long time so that each Federation finds an identity
, and that it can keep up-to-date in the pedagogical aspect without losing sight of its context or without ceasing to be genuine. This is a macro perspective that applies both to the training of people adult, in the case of us here, as well as to the training of children, who will be the final recipients of the learning achieved in this course through the coaches that we train"
, explained the former Newell's Old Boys from Rosario.
