“
François is ready!”
, launched Jean-Luc Mélenchon last week in a tweet.
The leader of the Insoumis seemed to dub the emblematic LFI deputy for the Somme for his succession in 2027. An Elabe survey for
L'Express
, unveiled this Thursday evening, confirms the idea that François Ruffin could take up the torch.
For 59% of French people, the LFI deputy from the Somme would today be
"the best candidate to represent the left in the next presidential election"
, against only 33% for Jean-Luc Mélenchon (8% without opinion).
Even if the difference is less clear, the report is shared until within the electorate of left: 53% answer François Ruffin, against 46% for Jean-Luc Mélenchon (1% without opinion).
"Image Bonus"
Less known, the director of “Thank you Boss!”
benefits from an
"image bonus"
on his personality unlike his colleague Insoumis.
Therefore, when 60% of French people consider that Jean-Luc Mélenchon is
"arrogant"
, they are only 6% to think so for François Ruffin.
L'Insoumis, with its three presidential campaigns (2012, 2017, 2022), on the other hand, appears more
"presidential"
.
14% of French people and 33% of voters on the left consider that he has
"the necessary qualities to be President of the Republic"
while only 10% and 23% think so for François Ruffin.
It should however be noted - and perhaps this is the main point - that while 21% of French people prefer François Ruffin and 16% Jean-Luc Mélenchon, 63% of them prefer "
neither other"
.
Proof that there is still a long way to go.
