On the occasion of the Counting of the Omer days, Ari Fraser releases a vocal version of his song "Shema Yisrael", which he dedicates as a tribute to Avraham Elos Ajam who passed away on the eve of last Passover.
Tomer Ajam, who was among the producers of the original version of the song, wanted to turn "Shema Israel" into a song with a melody that all synagogues could sing with confidence.
"His father, Avraham Elos Ajam suggested that I perform the song without accompanying music, an acapella version."
Fraser recruited for this purpose the excellent Jonathan Stern, who has extensive experience in vocal processing.
They recorded the new version and planned to launch it to the public in the days between the Straits, but as a tribute to the original song's producer, Tomer, and to his father Avraham, who was a very special Jew, and who passed away on the eve of Passover, the production team decided to release the vocal version of "Shema Israel" - already now.
The late Avraham always used to say: "People who sing acapella, get the simplicity and uniqueness of the song." And Ari adds: "The text and love your neighbor as yourself,
