(ANSA) - VICENZA, APRIL 21 - Five people were injured in the collapse of a staircase inside the Islamic cultural center in Vicenza, in Vecchia Ferriera.
The incident took place this morning shortly after 7, at the end of the party which closes the Ramadan period.
Inside the structure, which serves as a small mosque, there were over a thousand faithful.
According to the first findings, the internal staircase would not have supported the weight of the people, bending and then giving way.
One of the faithful was trapped between the plates.
The man was then freed by the intervention of the firefighters, who quickly rushed to the scene together with the Suem 118 ambulances. (ANSA).
