Three residents of Lakia were arrested on suspicion of trying to kidnap a young woman in Kiryat Malachi, April 22, 2023 (Israel Police Spokesperson)
Three young residents of Lakia in the Negev were arrested today (Saturday) on suspicion of trying to kidnap a young woman resident of Kiryat Malachi.
According to the police's suspicion, the three arrived at a residential building in the city, where one of them tried to force the young woman, whom he knew before, into his car.
After she resisted, they allegedly attacked a man in the street and robbed him of his mobile phone.
The police were called to the scene following a report received at the emergency center about shouting near the building, and noticed a vehicle that had fled with the three in it.
The police started chasing the suspects, who did not respond to the policemen's calls to stop and even broke through a police roadblock.
The three were stopped at another checkpoint that was set up, escaped from the vehicle and were caught after a foot chase near Pora in the Negev.
The phone that was robbed and the suspect's car was seized for further investigation, and they will be brought before the Ashkelon Magistrate's Court with a request to extend their detention.
