The body of a man was found buried in a field in the Doubs on Saturday, the Besançon prosecutor's office told AFP, confirming information from the Est Républicain.
“
The body was discovered around 10:40 a.m. by people who saw a hand sticking out of the ground
,” explained Alexandra Chaumet, deputy prosecutor of the Republic of Besançon.
An investigation was opened for the discovery of a corpse, entrusted to the gendarmes, and an autopsy must be performed on Monday, said the magistrate, explaining that there were no elements allowing the body to be identified.
On March 9, the charred body of a man was discovered in a wood of Thise, in the same department, and an investigation opened for assassination.

The victim, a 26-year-old man, was accompanied at the time of his disappearance by a young man of 21, still untraceable, a worrying disappearance which had prompted the public prosecutor Étienne Manteaux to widen the investigation to facts of possible kidnapping of this second individual.
The prosecutor had explained during a press conference on March 13 that this case was probably linked to drug trafficking.
The alleged perpetrator of another assassination in Besançon at the end of February, also suspected in this case, was arrested at the end of March in Marseille.
