Opposed to marriage for all voted ten years ago, the president of Reconquest!
Éric Zemmour like MEP LR François-Xavier Bellamy said on Sunday April 23 that they did not regret anything, each worrying about a shift towards the legalization of surrogacy.
"
When I reread what I was able to write or say on that occasion, I see that everything we said with those who opposed"
marriage for all "
came true
", said on
Radio J
Francois-Xavier Bellamy.
"
What was at stake was a model of society which included the extension of PMA (...) and surrogacy
", he argued, assuring that "
what we denounce has ended by happening
”.
If medically assisted procreation (PMA) for all women has been authorized in France since the end of September 2021, this is not the case for surrogacy (GPA).
For the vice-president of the LR, his opposition to same-sex marriage actually amounted to "
a global choice
".
“
I do not consider surrogacy as progress
”, “
and I would not like to apologize for that
”, he added, expressing his resentment towards “
those who hysterized this debate
”.
“
The least that can be said is that at the time, the fact of peacefully and well-argued testifying to our reservations immediately earned us insults for months
,” he regretted.
“A step in a much longer project”

BFMTV
, the president of Reconquête!
Éric Zemmour took the same line, not subscribing to
the recent "accumulation of mea culpa
", in particular ministers Gérald Darmanin and Christophe Béchu, who regretted their fight against marriage for all.
"
I was hostile to this marriage for all because (...) I knew that this marriage was a stage (...) in a much longer project
", he developed.
“
In truth, after the marriage (...) it was planned that there would then be the PMA for single women and lesbian couples and the GPA for homosexual men.
Well we are almost there
, ”he assured.

In the event of accession to power, neither François-Xavier Bellamy nor Éric Zemmour would repeal the law.
“
The real subject is the future and the question of surrogacy which is the subject of terrible ambivalence
”, assured the MEP LR, when Éric Zemmour repeated that it was not his “
priority
".
