"Memorial Day establishes a deep connection between the personal and the national," Halevi wrote.
"This year, precisely in the shadow of tensions, we must focus on personal memory and wrap ourselves in its human strength. The order of remembrance obliges us to unite around it and focus on the link between us. We must all respect the cemeteries and not turn them into an arena of debate. There is a deafening power in restraint and silence, and the communion with our fallen loved ones cannot to exist under the noise of debate.
"At the moment of communion, each of us carries with us the image of a fallen person. During the ceremonies we must reduce ourselves to the pain of her loss and hold on to her as a shield from any other noise. Just remember, grieve and honor. Even for a moment. Even for one holy day."

Last night, like every Saturday for the past three months, demonstrations against the legal revolution were held across the country.
In the demonstrations, the presence of the bereaved families stood out, who wanted to demonstrate against the government, whose ministers are expected to speak at the national ceremonies that will be held in cemeteries across the country on Tuesday.
Bereaved family members spoke at protest rallies in several major cities, demanding that coalition members not attend these ceremonies.
Also, a memorial display of bereaved families was placed during the demonstration on Kaplan Street in Tel Aviv.
The Israeli flag was lowered to half-mast at the Bima square in the city before the march left the place.
