Eleven single candidates, five women and six men aged 21 to 28, will live in a sublime villa in the Canary Islands under the eye of the 58 cameras of “
Love Island”

Their names are Valentin, Perle, Gabriel, Fiona, Simone, Perrine, Sacha, Cindy, Edgar or even Anna, they have put their professional lives on hold – from top athlete to school nurse and flight attendant, commercial or school teacher – to take part in this dating show known throughout the world.
This format launched in the United Kingdom in 2015, huge success on the other side of the Channel, has become
"the first brand of dating in the world, on the air in 26 countries"

“We have kept certain fundamentals.
Each country has its specificities, French culture is not the same as British culture.
The Anglo-Saxon program has been on the air for several years.
We are not at all in a copy-paste of the English version.
Seduction in England is not at all the same as in our country, which is a Latin country.
We do not intend to be in the same codes.

"Love Island", how does it work?
The eleven singles at the start of the adventure, six men and five women, will have to form five man-woman couples before a ceremony hosted by
Delphine Wespiser
which will sanction the elimination of the one who will be alone.
Over the days, new candidates will enter to try to shake up the established order and new ceremonies will be organized.
The days are punctuated by activities and meetings that will put the affinities of each other to the test.
At the end of the game, the viewers' favorite couple will be declared the winner.
Who are the “Love Island” contestants?
The bachelors, called the Islanders, were largely recruited by wild casting.
“We looked for profiles of people who don't necessarily have an Instagram account or thousands of followers.
We are not in a logic of popular personalities as we have been able to do in other reality TV programs

We wanted to present very varied profiles by being very inclusive with people of all morphologies and origins from all socio-professional backgrounds.
It is a photograph of French youth as a whole.
In terms of sexuality, on the other hand, by the mechanics of the program, we will only have couples made up of a man and a woman.

Why is “Love Island” filmed in the Canary Islands?
After South Africa in 2020 on Amazon Prime Video, the program has settled on the Spanish islands off the African coast.
“On all the major global formats, there are production sites common to all countries
,” explains the president of ITV Studios France.
For “Love Island”, we have villas ready to host a shoot.
In 2020, the site in South Africa was not one of them, it was a specific location of the French version of the show.
We tried to choose a place with a promise of good weather and mild temperatures.
We turned to this site in the Canary Islands where everything is already installed, this villa has already been used for other editions of “Love Island” abroad.
We just reworked the decoration.

How to follow “Love Island”?
The system put in place is particularly ambitious with real-time broadcasting where viewers are directly involved via an application where they can vote for free.
After a Monday evening launch from 11:15 p.m. on M6, "Love Island" will be broadcast in access prime time, Monday to Friday, from 7:50 p.m. on W9.
But that's not all.
“Today, we have to think about the digital dimension and “Love Island” has all the assets to be a success in this register.
It's a common linear adventure with W9 and digital with 6Play,”
