On video: the opening ceremony of the Remembrance Day events for the martyrs of Israel's systems and the victims of hostilities (Walla system!)
The Remembrance Day events for Israel's martyrs and victims of hostilities opened today (Monday) with the ceremony at the "Yad Labanim" house in Jerusalem, with the participation of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Speaker of the Knesset Amir Ohana, Jerusalem Mayor Moshe Leon and bereaved families. The ceremony is the first in a series of memorial ceremonies which will be held throughout the coming day, and will end with the ceremony of lighting the beacons on Mount Herzl.

Prime Minister Netanyahu referred to the terrorist attack in Mahane Yehuda that happened just minutes before the start of the ceremony and not far from the Yad Labanim Museum. "A few minutes ago, Not far from here, another attempt was made to murder the citizens of Israel.
This attack, in this place, at this moment, reminds us that the Land of Israel and the State of Israel were bought with great suffering."
The prime minister also said: "These attacks come with the expectation that they can and will displace us from here, and if they could, they would kill us all. But they couldn't do it to us and we did it to them. We established a glorious country with a glorious army and a glorious police force, at a heartbreaking price."
Against the background of the fear of calls and disturbances, the security at the place is particularly high.
Earlier this week, many ministers and members of the Knesset announced the cancellation of their attendance at the state Remembrance Day ceremonies at the cemeteries, due to the public criticism directed at them, also among bereaved families.
Minister of National Security Itamar Ben Gvir intends to participate and speak at the official memorial ceremony at the military cemetery in Be'er Sheva, despite the demand that he not do so.
At 20:00, a minute-long memorial siren will be sounded across the country, marking the opening of the Day of Remembrance for the Fallen of Israel.
Immediately after it, the memorial rallies will begin throughout the country, with the state ceremony to light a memorial candle at the Western Wall plaza in Jerusalem in the presence of President Yitzhak Herzog, Defense Minister Yoav Galant and Chief of Staff Hertzi Halevi.
Tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. the reading of the names of the martyrs of Israel's systems will begin at the memorial hall on Mount Herzl and at 11:00 a two-minute siren will sound.
At the end of the siren, the state ceremony will begin on Mount Herzl.
At 11:02, a flight of fighter jets will pass over the military cemetery and memorial hall on Mount Herzl.
At 13:00 there will be a state memorial ceremony for the victims of hostilities.
