The
passenger train
that connects
Buenos Aires with Mendoza
had to
arrive this weekend and it did not happen
.
He left Retiro on Friday but
only went to Justo Daract, in San Luis
.
The expected return of the train
after 30 years
to the town of Palmira, 50 kilometers from the Mendoza capital, had been announced by President Alberto Fernàndez and Minister Sergio Massa, in an act with little
flags and live music
.
A month ago, on March 22, national government officials
traveled by plane
to the province of Cuyo to participate in the white march, as the event is called every time
the Chinese train, from the state company Trenes Argentinos
, moves.
The frequency from Retiro to Mendoza had already attracted attention due to its slowness: it is estimated that it will take
between 26 and 28 hours
, to make a journey of 1,000 kilometers.
There are sections in which it circulates at 40 kilometers per hour.
Even so, slowly, the extension of the Cuyo route of the San Martín branch had been
celebrated with the hope of reactivating tourism
and communication between nearby towns by the residents of Palmira, in the eastern zone of Mendoza.
Opposition critics for the train to Mendoza that did not arrive
Mendoza radicalism officials came out
to question the failed announcement on social networks
: "Once again the national government
lies
to us Mendoza. Today
the announced Mendoza-Buenos Aires train
should have arrived
. The formation left on Friday from Retiro to other destinations. There is no official explanation for the cancellation of the trip to our province," questioned the UCR senator and former Minister of Tourism,
Mariana Juri
.
Added the ally of the radical Alfredo Cornejo: "This
does not surprise us
since the tickets that were announced a month ago at the
Kirchnerist act
in Palmira were never put on sale."
The President had said when inaugurating the frequency together with the K militancy: "Many
believed that we were going to sell a lie
, but here is the train."
Not yet
.
And Alberto Fernández had predicted that thanks to the return of the train, on a weekly basis, "Palmira would cease to be a ghost town."
Another strong woman from the Mendoza UCR added to the criticism, the pension president of the Senate,
Natacha Eisenchlas
: "Today the Buenos Aires-Mendoza train should have arrived.
It did not happen
."
The foul gave rise to Eisenchlas speaking out
against the person who had been the main operator of the return
of the passenger train, the former mayor of San Martín, the Peronist Jorge Omar Giménez.
"Perhaps the candidate of La Unión Mendocina who represents @TrensArg
should give some explanation
. Too much disrespect,
too much mockery
of the expectations of Mendoza. It is not surprising...", the radical senator posted on Twitter.
The Chicana refers to the jump of Giménez, who
has just left the government of Alberto Fernández to compete as mayor
of San Martín, a position he has already held during three administrations for the PJ.
Now as a new member of Omar De Marchi's (PRO) list, he broke with the ruling coalition, confronting Cornejo and Governor Suarez.
Giménez did not answer why the train did not arrive on April 21.
"That's not relevant.
Weeks more or weeks less, it will come
," he said.
And he confirmed that he resigns from his position as delegate of Trenes Argentinos.
"It is up to me not to stay in that place," he said.
From Retiro to Mendoza, the train will go through 28 stations and visit 55 towns.
The cost of the ticket is still unknown
, but according to Trenes Argentinos, the rate would go from $3,500 to $11,500, depending on the category of seat.
