Iranian dissident journalist Keyvan Samimi, released in January after being imprisoned for more than two years, has been arrested again, his family told AFP on Tuesday.
Aged 74, Keyvan Samimi was released on January 26 from prison where he had been detained since December 2020 for "
conspiracy against national security
".

," his family said.
After his release, the journalist had met many activists and political figures, in particular the former reformist president Mohammad Khatami (1997-2005).
His family had indicated in January that, in another legal file, Keyvan Samimi was accused of "
association against the security of the country
", without further details.

The journalist had published a message from his cell the previous month in support of the protest movement sparked by the September 16 death of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian Kurd, who died after being arrested by vice police for violating the dress code. strict of the Islamic Republic.
In February 2022, Keyvan Samimi was released from prison and returned home due to health issues.
But in May, he was re-incarcerated after being suspected of carrying out activities against national security during his provisional release.
