The torch lighting ceremony will be held in the background of the disputes over the legal revolution legislation.

Opposition leader Yair Lapid announced that he would not take part in the ceremony.

"You left me no choice," he wrote, "I love the State of Israel dearly, but in three months you tore apart Israeli society and no fake fireworks show will cover that up. If the unity of Israel was so important to you, you would not have dismantled our democracy and would have left to work for the citizens of Israel."

Minister of Transportation and organizer of the ceremony Miri Regev called to "put aside" the political differences and unite "around our wonderful country".

"I know there are controversies, criticisms, I ask everyone to put everything aside for three days in the State of Israel"

among the torchbearers Brigadier General Avigdor Kahalani, basketball coach David Blatt, entrepreneur Sion Yaari, farmer Red Ben Saadon and educator Yehudit Negusa.

More than 100 different Air Force aircraft will take part in the traditional Air Force fly-by.

In addition, police helicopters and firefighting planes will participate as an expression of the cooperation between the security forces.

This year dozens of pilots from foreign armies - the United States, Germany, Great Britain and Italy - will participate in Mets, as a sign of partnership between the countries.

For the convenience of Israeli citizens, the aircraft application developed by the Air Force's "Ofek" technological unit was launched, which will also provide an optimal aircraft viewing experience this year by marking its routes and the location of the aircraft in real time on a map.

Beyond that, every citizen will be able to watch the show, 20 minutes away from where they live.

In addition, as every year, the IDF bases will open their doors to the general public - the Ezer Weizman Air Force Base in Ramat David, the Tel Nof Air Force Base, the Air Force Museum in Hatzor and the Horon Camp Base in the Shomron Regional Division.
