The crisis of political confidence and polarization in Latin America, to be debated in the forum of EL PAÍS and Edelman

The four most populous countries in the region, Brazil, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina, suffer a significant deterioration in the perception that citizens have of Executives and their main political leaders, according to the results of Trust Barometer Latin America 2023, a

global

survey by the consulting firm Edelman, which will be presented this Tuesday in a joint forum with EL PAÍS.

Latin America is suffering a profound crisis of confidence in governments and their leaders, a cycle that worsened in 2022 and continues.

Although this year's barometer registers a slight rise, the Administrations are still at the bottom of the least valued institutions, with an average of 37%, followed by the media, which include social networks and stand at 45%.

The discussion panel will be moderated by Jan Martínez Ahrens, director of EL PAÍS America, who will talk with Mariana Sanz, CEO of Edelman Latin America, Gabriela Warkentin, host and director of the newscast Así las cosas, Javier Ortiz Bahamón, director of Tropical

Forest

Alliance for Latin America.

The event will begin at 08:00 in Bogotá, at 07:00 in Mexico City and at 10:00 in Brazil and Argentina.
