BRUSSELS - The European Commission opens the first tender for European companies interested in joining forces for joint gas purchases.
Through the new
AggregateEU
tool , which joins the platform for common gas purchases, companies can indicate the volumes of their gas purchase needs, which will then be aggregated and put out for tender on the international market.
So far
76 companies have already registered in the mechanism
.
The first call to indicate gas volumes is open from today until 2 May and the first purchase agreements are expected before summer.
