The Bed Bath & Beyond chain of stores filed for Chapter 11 and filed for bankruptcy on Sunday amid plans to scale back its entire operation.
The battered company explained what this decision means for its customers in a question-and-answer page posted online.
Will the stores still be open?
Will the website still be active?
Yes for now.
The company's remaining 360 stores and 120 buybuy BABY stores and websites will remain open and serving customers as the company scales back operations and seeks buyers for its remaining assets.

When does the final sale start?
On Wednesday.
"We encourage you to come buy your favorite products while merchandise is available," the company said.
Sales will not be refunded.

What will happen to product returns?
Any product purchased before Wednesday can be returned or exchanged until May 24.
Merchandise purchased on or after Wednesday, when the final sale begins, cannot be returned.

The company has said it hopes to partner with an alternative platform to which all data from the records will be transferred.

"Your registration information is safe. Although registered product listing items can no longer be purchased through our platform, you can still view your listing at this time," the company said.

Customers can redeem their
Welcome Rewards
through May 15.
However, the company is no longer awarding cumulative reward points for purchases.
Stores will not accept coupons starting Wednesday.
Customers will be able to use the gift cards until May 8.
Buyers will be able to use merchandise credits until May 15.
