Only in the
first quarter
of this year, the price of meat and its derivatives
increased by 39.8%
on average, almost double that of general inflation (21.9%), according to INDEC in Greater Buenos Aires.
As a result of this jump, which did not stop in April, it is already possible to see in many butcher shops the kilo of beef shoulder at more than $1,700, roast
above
$
1,800
and buttock at more than $2,200.
To alleviate the impact on the pocket, even in part, in recent months different
promotions and official agreements
have been announced , which can still be taken advantage of.
They are initiatives that allow paying for meat between
10% and 35% less
than the values on the counter.
And that, well used, allow you
to save several thousand pesos
throughout the month.
Here are the
top four
.
Meat has increased nearly 40% in just three months, but there are still a few ways to buy it at "old prices."

1. Discount in Banco Nación butcher shops
A promotion by Banco Nación (BNA), launched in February and
later extended
until June 30, allows you to recover
35%
of spending in butcher shops, with a savings cap that recently went to
$4,000 per purchase
(at the beginning it was $3,000). .
In this way, whoever purchases merchandise for $11,430 later receives
$4,000 in return
, which reduces the total expense to $7,430.
The interesting thing is that the operation can be done
unlimited times
.
The benefit is only available on
Saturdays and Sundays
, not in any butcher shop but in
participating locations
in each city, which can be found on the BNA website
On the other hand, to access it is necessary to have a Nation card (or get one for free from the BNA+ app).
The accepted ones are
Visa and Mastercard credit
, Mastercard debit or -only for retirees-
Maestro debit
.
2. Discount in butcher shops of Banco Provincia
Since March, Banco Provincia customers have also received a
35%
refund on
Saturdays and Sundays
at
butcher shops, farms and fishmongers
in Buenos Aires and Buenos Aires.
The promotion allows you to save up to
$3,000 per week
and per person.
With which, whoever takes full advantage of it will be able to make weekly consumptions for $8,572 at a real cost of $5,572.
The refund, as explained by the bank, will be reflected in the account up to
10 business days
after each payment.
To get the benefit, you have to buy in
participating stores
(check the list here) and pay from your cell phone using the virtual wallet
DNI Account
.
The promotion is valid until
Sunday April 30
, but Banco Provincia is preparing to announce that
it will continue in May
, as
Clarín
was able to confirm .
To get the 35% discount you have to pay from your cell phone.

3. Discount in butcher shops with all debit cards
Since March, the Federal Administration of Public Revenues (AFIP) has applied a
10% refund
for consumers who pay at butcher shops throughout the country with debit cards, prepaid cards or QR codes.
The benefit will be available
every day
until December 31, 2023 for clients of the main banks and virtual wallets.
It allows you to recover up to
$2,000 per month
and per person.
Thus, those who make one or more meat purchases that add up to $20,000 during the month
can take full advantage of it
: in this case, $2,000 will return to their account, reducing the amount paid for the merchandise to $18,000.
If the expense is $10,000, only $1,000 is recovered.
Refunds, which are credited up to
96 hours after
each payment, are available at more than
68,000 butcher shops
listed in an official registry.
The list of venues and other details can be found at afip.gob.ar/reintegro.
4. In the supermarkets, cuts at a reduced price
By an agreement with the Government, large supermarkets must offer meat at special prices.

Until June 30, the official Fair Prices program will include
seven cuts
of steer meat, which must be offered
every day
in the country's main supermarkets at an
agreed price
that is much
cheaper
than the market price.
The proposal includes during April
roast at $1,068
a kilo,
buttock at $1,419
, matambre at $1,352, empty at $1,394, skirt at $697, shoulder
at $1,149
and roast cover at $1,068.
All of which can be paid both in cash and electronically.
These values, as announced by the Secretary of Commerce, can only rise at a rate of
3.2% per month
on average.
And in Patagonia, where they are sold boneless, a 6% surcharge applies.
Of course, as the
quantities are limited
and the prices are very attractive, finding this merchandise in the gondolas can be difficult.
Going to the supermarket in the morning, according to repositories, there are more chances of seeing them.
