Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen - In many communities in the district, boys, fire brigades and other clubs stick to the good tradition and put up a maypole.

Our newspaper provides an overview of where something is on offer and where celebrations are taking place – as far as we know the dates.

Eurasburg

In 2018, lightning destroyed the Eurasburg maypole, which then had to be removed piece by piece by the fire brigade.

Five years later there is a new one.

The approximately 100-year-old and 34-metre-long spruce tree will be erected on the village square from 8 a.m. on May 1st.

Then there is a morning pint.

The May dance with celebration takes place from 2 p.m.

Guests are treated to coffee, cake and grilled food.

The celebration takes place in any weather.

Beuerberg

In Beuerberg, too, the May boys move out on May 1st.

From 9 a.m. they set up their tree.

At the same time the morning pint begins.

The Beuerberger brass band will play from 12 noon.

The dance begins at 3 p.m.

There is a bar in the marquee, and the event takes place in all weather conditions.

Dietramszell

In the Dietramszell district of Schönegg, a maypole will be erected by the Edelweiß Association for the Preservation of Traditional Costumes by the Peiß restaurant on May 1st.

It starts at 11 a.m.

Ergertshausen

The Ergertshausen lads' club grabs the shear bars on May 1 at 7 a.m. in the morning.

The May Day Celebration will take place on Sunday, May 7th.

It begins with a May prayer at 1.30 p.m. in the Ergertshauser church.

"From around 2 p.m. the May couples dance around the tree," says Markus Huber, secretary of the boys and girls Ergertshausen.

This is followed by the May Day celebrations at Schöftlmoar with the Deining brass band.

In the evening from around 6 p.m., the party band Flexibells will set the mood.

Gelting

A maypole will also be erected in Gelting this year, starting at 9 a.m. on Sunday, April 30th.

The May dance takes place on May 1st at 1.30 p.m.

The May Day celebrations continue at 2 p.m. in the Rudolf-Mörtl gym at Leitenstrasse 2.

There is a bar tent.

Geretsried

The May celebration of the Egerländer Gmoi takes place on Sunday, May 1st, on Karl-Lederer-Platz.

From 8 a.m. muscle strength is required to set up the tree.

For the May Dance from 2 p.m. the Gartenberger bunker brass band will play.

Participants are the dance groups of the Geretsrieder Landsmannschaften and the Greek community.

In the event of rain, the event will take place in the council chambers.

icking

In Icking, the May boys and girls will be out on Saturday, April 29, from 11 a.m. to set up the 32-meter tree.

The May Day celebrations take place a week later on May 7th.

It starts at 12 o'clock with the drawing of the couples.

After the dance, there will be a celebration in the marquee at the building yard.

The Irschenhauser brass band plays there during the day, and the "AllgäuPower" band creates a great atmosphere in the evenings.

There is food and drinks.

Koenigsdorf

Under the auspices of the Königsdorf May Boys, a tree will be erected in Osterhofen on May 1st at 6 a.m.

Muensing

The Münsinger girls and boys of the West fraternity will set up their 38-meter-long magnificent specimen on May 1st.

It replaces the old tree that stood there intact for four years.

The May Day celebrations begin at 1 p.m. with performances by 21 dance couples.

St Henry

In St. Heinrich, the Association for the Care of Villages and Traditions also lifts a tree on May 1st.

"We traditionally set up by hand from 9 a.m.," says Elisabeth Huber.

"From 12 o'clock there will be a festival in the tent with an ox on a skewer." In the afternoon there will be a May dance and a May tree auction.

The music band Sindelsdorf accompanies the day.

Wolfratshausen

In the early morning of May 1st, the white-blue tree trunk is erected in the Wolfratshausen district of Weidach with shear poles and a lot of elbow grease.

On May 7th at 11 a.m., the boys and girls invite you to the May Dance with Bandltanz.

Then the parade takes you to the beer tent, where the Eurasburger brass band plays for entertainment.

In the late afternoon, the band Ois Chicago takes over.

The May Day celebrations are part of the Weidach Festival, which takes place from May 5th to 14th.

Allmannshausen

The boys' association Allmannshausen in the municipality of Berg is also in action on May 1st and puts up a tree.

The dance around the maypole begins at 12 noon.

Marquee operation with the Bachhauser brass band is from 1 p.m.

The bar opens at 6.30pm.

The party band "Heldensteiner HeuBodnBlosn" is playing.

Bachhauser Wies

The Bachhauser Wies fraternity is holding its May Day celebrations on May 1st at 12 p.m. in Bachhauser Wies.

"We set up a marquee and have a party band at the start in the evening," Obermadl Teresa Griesbeck tells our editors.
