2023-04-27T08:25:36.351Z

Azure skies, golden beaches, turquoise waters… and a thousand shades of green to complete a picture that any painter would dream of composing: the breathtaking landscape of Croatia. Their unparalleled splendor makes them the ideal backdrop for a life-size rejuvenating vacation.

We often imagine the islands with paradisiacal beaches, the spectacular waterfalls or the settings of wild and luxuriant nature at our antipodes.

No need to go so far to appreciate such marvels: in the heart of Europe, Croatia lavishes under its Mediterranean sky a fascinating quintessence of panoramas;

a superproduction lit by the sun and whose visitors are the super guest-stars.

How, indeed, not to be seduced by the golden plains of the so bucolic Slavonia?

The region also displays an impressive diversity of landscapes of peaceful beauty, ideal for excursions: Kopački Rit, one of the largest natural marshes in Europe, where you can come by boat to admire the flight of wild birds, but also the park around Mount Papuk, where you walk through age-old oak and beech forests... A little further west, in the Sava valley, the Lonjsko Polje wetland will delight lovers of romantic atmospheres with its water lilies and its profusion of birds – ducks and storks find there a sanctuary.

The miracle of water

With 10% of its protected area, Croatia has 8 national parks and 12 natural parks where the water readily offers phantasmagorical spectacles.

You have to admire the splendid emerald lakes of Plitvice, nestled in the center of a park inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List for the richness of its fauna, but also its caves, its rivers or even the park following the course of the legendary Krka river: punctuated by 7 waterfalls competing in majesty, it delivers the most prodigious of aquatic enchantments.

The Adriatic coast is not lacking in assets either: boaters love the Kornati archipelago for the solemn beauty of its islands with vertiginous cliffs.

From there, they can then sail towards the Istrian coast, to discover the grandiose Brijuni Islands, off Pula.

O how conducive to contemplation and relaxation, these exceptional settings will also satisfy souls in love with cultural discoveries – Šibenik and its UNESCO-listed Saint-Jacques Cathedral (aka the Iron Bank in Game of Thrones

heritage sites, traditions and festivals abound!

But also fans of energizing sporting sensations: land, sea, mountains promise countless playgrounds and guarantee endless memories.

In any season, happiness is experienced on Croatian time.
