Suzanne Perez and her boyfriend Dil Querido met Ellie that way and saw her for the first time in this state.
At the time, even the shelter staff questioned whether she was even an option for adoption: āAre you sure you want her?
She's been abandoned all her life and doesn't even want to look anyone in the eye," the couple was asked.
But Susanne Perez and her boyfriend had already made their decision - Ellie is one of them.
They took the young dog home with them.
And there, too, she was initially anxious and shy.
She was shaking and ignoring her new owners.

"When we first got her out of the car, she just sat on the floor and refused to move.
She spent the first day with her back in the corner and not moving," Susanne Perez told

The couple knew they had to take it slow with Ellie because of her traumatic start in life.

Their approach worked, and just a few weeks later, Ellie thanked them both.
With her empathy and her loving behavior towards the dog, the four-legged friend quickly gained trust.
"We were shocked that it happened so quickly considering how she acted when we first saw her, but we showered her with so much love and now she is so happy."

How Ellie has changed in a very short time is captured by the couple in a transformation video published on the TikTok account "badgirlelliebear".
The clip has already been viewed 1.9 million times and received more than 300,000 likes.
The fact that Ellie, who can be seen in the first scene, and Ellie, who appears in the following sequences, are worlds apart makes the hearts of TikTok users beat faster.
