Avi Maoz in the Plenum: "He who tries to harm the Jewish identity is the darkness" (Knesset Channel)
The chairman of the Noam party, MK Avi Maoz, published a letter last night (Thursday) to the party's activists and supporters, in which he referred once again to the appointment of Amir Ohana to the position of speaker of the Knesset and his presence at state ceremonies on Memorial Day and Independence Day together with his partner. "I was filled with shame and pain
. , to the depths of my soul, when the State of Israel and its official representatives, in an official ceremony commemorating the martyrs of the Holocaust and in other state events and ceremonies on Memorial Day and Independence Day, announce to the whole world the 'Knesset Speaker and his spouse' as if this were an accepted authentic Jewish norm," Maoz wrote.

"Although my vote in favor of his appointment was in fulfillment of the coalition's commitment to support the chairman that the Likud will present, it did not occur to me that this appointment would become a symbol and example of this phenomenon," added Chairman Noam.
"This happened for the first time during the formation of the current government. Indeed, then I failed and made a mistake by not standing up in protest and leaving the plenary."
"It is impossible to agree, not even silently and without protest, to an acute mind engineering that creates a new public position that lifts a new family model on a miracle and damages our fundamental values as the people of Hashem and as a Jewish state," he signed the letter.
"We will no longer be able to bear this without protesting. The truth is not shy, it is not timid and it is not cowardly, even if it is not popular. We were wrong not to protest the first time but not again."

Maoz served as deputy minister in the prime minister's office but resigned from his position on the grounds that "there is no intention to implement the coalition agreements with him."
Since his resignation, officials in Netanyahu's office have worked to bring him back to the government table while promising to implement the agreement with him.
Maoz recently said in interviews that he will soon return to his position, but clarified in his statements in the Knesset that the deadline for agreements with him will be the approval of the budget in the first reading in the Knesset, then he will withdraw from the coalition.
The budget was approved in the first reading, but Mauz did not retire, for now.
